One of the drivers involved in a fatal crash in Georgina on Friday has been charged.

According to OPP, the driver of a Mazda minivan, a 58-year-old from Scotland, has been charged for making an improper left turn.

The crash happened on Ravenshoe Road on Friday evening. Police say the accused was making a left hand turn onto Highway 48, when the minivan was struck by a Dodge Caravan.

Four passengers were in the Mazda, including a 78-year-old Beaverton man, who was sent to hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. 

An 80-year-old Beaverton woman was also sent to hospital in critical condition. The driver and front passenger suffered minor injuries.

Two people in the other minivan also suffered minor injuries.
