A Springwater Township man has been charged after allegedly fleeing the scene of two separate crashes on Tuesday morning.

According to the OPP, a Chrysler minivan struck a Suzuki Swift on Highway 93 in Wyebridge , at around 10:45 a.m. Police say the driver of the minivan didn’t stay at the scene and fled north on the highway.

The OPP later received a report of a minivan that was forcing other vehicles off the road. The minivan then collided with a taxi in Penetanguishene and allegedly fled the scene.

A short time later, the minivan nearly missed a man who walking along the North Service Road, near Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care.

The vehicle was eventually stopped and the driver, a 52-year-old man, was charged with dangerous driving, racing and fail to remain.

He appeared in a Barrie court on Wednesday.
