A Keswick couple coping with cancer got to put their troubles aside for one day to create a memory that will last forever, and it was all thanks to the community.

It's the day Heidi Moore has been dreaming about since she was a little girl.

"Today means the beginning of the rest of our lives, a new journey as husband and wife I couldn't more excited or happy," Moore says.

Saying their vows, Moore and Rodney Comer know better than most, how to make every moment count.

“It’s been an amazing experience. Something we'll never forget," says Comer.

The couple has been together for two and a half years, but the pair met in high school.

Six years ago Moore battled breast cancer. She was later deemed cancer free, but last year it returned, this time in her liver. The cancer has since spread to her lungs – it’s now in stage four.

"Having Rodney walk Heidi through this journey has been such a blessing for our family,” says Heidi’s sister Holly Moore. “It's given her a soft place to fall, and it's given her strength when she wasn't sure she had any."

Comer proposed on New Year's Day in Montreal. When their story went viral, the community got behind them.

More than 25 wedding vendors rallied to throw the couple a dream wedding, for free.

"This is our passion. We saw a story, it resonated with us, we felt for them, we loved Heidi’s strength, we saw Rodney’s strength in supporting his fiancée," Alexandira Damouni of OMG Events.

From the bride's dress, to the venue, decorations and food, everything was donated.

"It’s been totally humbling. We didn't expect it to be this much, but so many people got involved, it's overwhelming,” says Comer.

On Friday night, all eyes were on the beautiful bride as a family made memories to last forever.

"Just to be able to just think about the wedding; nothing else matters today, just her wedding,” says her father Randy Moore.

"I wish it didn't have to end. I want to do this every day with you. "

The couple wants to go on a Honey Moon, but for now they are raising money for experimental treatment. To find out more you can click here.
