With less than one month until Christmas, CTV Barrie is gearing up for our annual Toy Mountain campaign for the Children’s Aid Society of Simcoe County.

In 2014, Toy Mountain collected a record $102,000 in toys, gift cards and cash.

“We were able to help more than 800 families with the toys, gift cards and cash that came in,” said Nancy Green with CAS.

This year CAS says even more families will be looking for toys and they are hoping the community rises to the challenge.

“Here there never seems to be any issue at all, people always come to the forefront regardless of the situation, people are always very happy to help,” said Tony Dominico from Tilemaster.

South Simcoe Police are once again joining forces with CTV Barrie to help with the campaign and are looking to fill their command post with toys.

“So often you hear about police in an adversarial role or a confrontational role within our community, this is one where we get to give and be part of something special, brings you back to feeling like a kid again,” says South Simcoe Police Deputy Chief Andrew Fletcher.

Drop off a new unwrapped toy, gift card or cash donation at CTV Barrie, 33 Beacon Rd., between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday until Dec. 20.

South Simcoe Police will be holding Stuff a Command Post event on the following days and locations:
