The whereabouts of a 31-year-old Federal Parolee are unknown after he ran away after assaulting a man in Barrie on Sunday.

He was visiting his children, his ex-girlfriend and her new fiancé while on temporary leave from jail.

Police say he attacked the fiancé, punching him in the face multiple times and breaking his jaw, as he was coming into the house.

The man then allegedly placed the fiancé in a headlock, and said that he was going to kill him.

Police say the ex-girlfriend made the man release the headlock.

He then asked them not to call the police, and ran away.

Correctional Service Canada has a warrant for his arrest, and Barrie Police will be charging him with assault causing bodily harm, choking, and uttering threats.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
