York Regional Police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in connection to a sexual assault in Newmarket.

An 18-year-old woman was walking along a pathway that runs parallel to Davis Drive on Friday, at around 3 a.m., when police say she was approached by a man. The victim was coming from the GO bus terminal.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman, forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. A man, who police say witnessed the assault, has come forward to speak with investigators.

On Monday, police released a composite sketch, which shows a man between the ages of 30 and 50 with a lean build. The suspect is believed to be 5’9” tall. He was last seen wearing a light grey jacket, a black hoodie, a black neck warmer and black boots.

Police believe there may be more witnesses and are asking anyone with information to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
