The company planning to build eight massive wind turbines, near the Collingwood airport says it's going ahead with the project, despite two appeals.

The Town of Collingwood and Township of Clearview have both appealed the Ontario government's decision allowing the 500-foot turbines over safety concerns.

However, a spokesperson for the company, WPD, says this is not a surprise and says it is all part of the process. He says unless there's a ruling otherwise,

WPD will start construction in the next few months. The appeals could take up to six months to rule on.    The province says it set out strict conditions for the project to ensure safety for planes using the nearby airport.
