There was a heavy police presence in Thornton early Saturday morning as officers searched for a person who fled the scene of a crash.
The driver crashed into a hydro pole around 6:30 a.m. OPP say he then fled the scene.
The Canine Unit and the emergency response team were brought in to search for the driver, throughout the town of Thornton and on nearby trails.
The crash on Barrie street in Essa Township also caused power outages for a few hours.
Police have not said whether they found the driver, only that the investigation is ongoing.
