A woman in Bradford has been arrested after allegedly barging into an apartment with a knife and holding two people against their will.

South Simcoe Police was contacted on Sunday after receiving reports of a woman armed with a knife on James Street.

According to police, the woman had arrived at the apartment earlier on Sunday, barged in with a knife and cornered the occupants. The woman allegedly demanded to know the whereabouts of another person.

The two people inside the apartment eventually escaped uninjured, while the accused was distracted on the phone. The woman was eventually lured out of the apartment, where she was arrested.

The 51-year-old Bradford woman is charged with uttering threats, break and enter, weapons dangerous, forcible confinement and mischief.

The accused appeared before a court on Monday morning.
