The Town of Bracebridge is asking the Ministry of Natural Resources to carry out a full review of the recent flooding.

Mayor Graydon Smith says council would like the MNR to review policies related to the way the ministry handles dams, reservoirs and locks through the various waterways in the area. Smith says communication between the ministry, the town and residents wasn't as frequent or as clear as it could

"Council is looking for some answers as to what happened during the 2013 flood,” Smith says. “I don't think in a confrontational way but in a way that can be productive moving forward to make sure we don't have incidents like this again or if we do everyone can be assured that all the proper measures are in place.”

The town would also like the ministry to hold public consultation sessions for feedback.
