A body believed to be that of a missing boater has been recovered from Georgian Bay.
Provincial police say the body was found on Friday morning in the water near Present Island. The deceased is believed be a missing 56-year-old Mississauga man.
An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the man’s identity and determine a cause of death.
Search and rescue crews have spent the week scouring the water for a boater after a watercraft was found abandoned near Beausoliel Island on Monday.
The OPP, Canadian Coast Guard and military members from CFB Trenton participated in the search.
