The Barrie Baycats are only a win away from claiming their first IBL Championship since 2005.

The Baycats beat the London Majors 12-2 on Tuesday night to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.

The Majors struck first in the game – Ryan Lapensee had a RBI groundout off Baycats starter Chris Kemlo.

Barrie responded in the bottom of the first as Jordan Castaldo grounded into a double play with runners on the corners and no outs, bringing home Ryan Spataro.

The game was 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth when the Baycats exploded.  Castaldo led off with a home run and later had an RBI triple in the same inning as Barrie kept piling on the runs. In the end, eight runs crossed the plate and for an 11-2 lead.

Baycats went on to the 12-2 win and they can win the championship in London on Friday night.
