Protestors in Barrie joined those around the world today raising their voices against Monsanto.

More than 100 people showed up at city hall in Barrie to protest genetically-modified crops.

Members of the March Against Monsanto says genetically-modified organism (GMOs) can lead to serious health conditions and hurt the environment.

Genetically-modified plants are grown from seeds that are engineered to resist insecticides and herbicides and increase the global food supply, groups like Monsanto say.

Rallies were held in 250 cities all over the world.
