Barrie police say they have made an arrest in connection to a convenience store robbery in May.

Following an eight month long investigation, police say they had enough evidence to arrest a 35-year-old Barrie man on Thursday. According to investigators, the accused was arrested at his probation meeting.

The man was arrested in connection to a May 27 robbery at a Mac’s Convenience store on Essa Road and Burton Avenue. A knife was allegedly used during the robbery.

The accused has since been charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon, disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused will appear before a Barrie court at a future date.
