A 21-year-old Barrie man was charged with multiple offences after numerous incidents on Saturday night.

Police say the man was drinking and smashing beer bottles at his brother’s house just before 8 p.m. Officers also say he also was using a meat cleaver to chop up the kitchen counter.

The man left the home just as police were arriving, so they began a search and found him in a nearby walkway.

Police say he had a 12” kitchen knife in his waistband and several cans of beer in a bag.

He was charged with mischief under $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was also charged with breaching his conditional sentence, conditions that said he had to be under house arrest and not to consume or possess alcohol.
