A central Ontario man will be sentenced this fall after being convicted of child pornography offences following an investigation that began in the United States.

Douglas Bauder, 52, of the Bancroft area, pleaded guilty Tuesday to possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and possession of a controlled substance.

A second count of possession of child pornography and a charge of production of a controlled substance were withdrawn.

He was charged last December after police searched a home in Faraday Township and seized a computer and other items containing images of child sexual abuse as well as 200 grams of marijuana.

The investigation began after U.S. agents in Ohio and Wyoming discovered that someone, believed to be in Ontario, was making child porn images available on the Internet.

Bauder will be sentenced Nov. 18.
